A province-wide menu planning session for B.C. farmers and chefs.

What to expect

Every Chef Needs a Farmer, Every Farmer Needs a Chef is a one day networking event that brings together more than 300 farmers, chefs and other members of the food and beverage industry to create more opportunities to bring B.C. food to plates around the province. This year’s event will take place on November 12 at the Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver B.C.

Chefs can explore a variety of B.C. products that are available for their restaurants, and farmers can connect directly with chefs to better understand what products are in high demand.

The event will feature an agriculture and food showcase of B.C.’s agriculture sector, with over 40 displays featuring BC primary agriculture producers, industry associations and non-profit organizations involved in B.C.’s local food system.

Attendees will hear insights, ideas and opportunities from leaders in B.C.’s farm to table movement in panel sessions that will take place throughout the day.

The event is part of the Ministry of Agriculture’s Buy BC program. Buy BC helps farmers, ranchers and producers market their products as locally-grown, raised, harvested and produced. This makes it easy for British Columbians to identify locally sourced products, in an effort to increase demand for B.C. products within the province.
